Artistic Research / Theater Combinale
Die Steuerwesen is a performative research that took place in August as part of the flausen+ scholarship at combinale Lübeck. Wirbeide explored, together with the performative philosopher Daniel Maurer and the book designer Anna Breit, the topic of taxes. Taxes are an important tool of democracy and solidarity, the monetary basis for our living together. Tax stories are stories that we all have to tell. We wanted to explore the ways in which taxation enters our lives, how it communicates with us and what notions of life/work and civic duties it conveys to us. How does knowledge about taxes shape our everyday lives? Why are taxes such a frustrating, overwhelming topic? We worked through our struggle, our questions and insecurities on stage, interviewed tax advisors and explored the desk for its athletic potential. Finally, the research was presented at the theatre in a MAKING OFF.
